About Us

ABOUT HARTFORD KTC

We strive to preserve the authentic teachings while making them accessible and meaningful in today’s world.

Hartford Karma Thegsum Chöling is a Tibetan Buddhist study and meditation center located in the West End of Hartford, Connecticut. Established in 1997 by Executive Directors Malou Dusyn and Kenneth Dusyn, our mission is to provide a peaceful community where people from all walks of life are able to learn, study and practice the authentic teachings of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

We are affiliated with Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery and retreat center, the North American monastic seat of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje. The Karmapa is the spiritual head of the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

On behalf of all of us at Hartford Karma Thegsum Chö ling, we extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to you. Our center is a sacred space where the ancient wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism is offered with open hands and open hearts.

At Hartford KTC, you will find not only the profound meditation practices of the Karma Kagyu lineage but also a warm and supportive community where each person’s journey is honored. Whether you are new to Buddhism, meditation or have practiced for many years, you are welcome here.

We are dedicated to cultivating wisdom, compassion, and peace — for ourselves and for the benefit of all beings. I hope you will join us for meditation, teachings, Dharma study group or simply to explore what this path may offer you.
